P1harmony "Most Wanted" at EagleBank Arena
Earlier this year P1harmony released their 8th mini album with the title track "Duh!". They then announced their world tour "Most Wanted," to start later in the summer.
I was able to see them at their EagleBank stop on September 29th. I attended with my sister and my KPOP concert enabler bestie.
The tour colors were purple (according to a TikTok of Keeho, the group's leader) and chrome/silver. Unsurprisingly, I always manage to not have clothes befitting of KPOP color codes. This time I still found an insufficient amount of purple and silver clothes BUT realized found a fun workaround. I call it Ravens jerseys!
The Baltimore Ravens are my state's (Maryland) football team. While I am not a huge football fan, I knew their colors were purple and black! Which while not inclusive of the chrome was good enough, with the added bonus of the opportunity for matching outfits with my concert buddies. My sister also made super cute scrunchies to match the theme.
KPOP fans in the DMV were well fed this year with tour after tour being announced. (Evidenced by the Twice US tour being announced the day after P1's show, AND there being two KPOP shows in the same day at least twice (Seso neon/ Kang Daniel & Ateez/The Rose)). I digress, but the sheer number of shows meant local multistans had to make important choices. It also meant that people couldn't take for granted that shows would sell out. Which also meant that if you played your cards right you could get a free seat upgrade. This is a bet that I put down and it, worked out. There was a row with space for us and, it's nice being able to see the members faces without the screen or binoculars.
Around a month before the US leg started, they announced an opener - AMPERS&ONE. P1harmony's junior artist at FNC Entertainment. Screenshot of Keeho Infront of FNC sign. I listened to a few of their songs beforehand but went in with few expectations. Before the show started we were a bit restless, since we hadn't bought merch and got into the venue so quickly. At 7:30 the members of AMPERS&ONE just walked out onto stage. The venue lights were still up, and they didn't even change the logo on the screen. They performed two songs and then did group intro before performing another song and then hyping the crowd up for P1Harmony.
I liked Seungmo's red highlights and Jiho's long blonde hair. I have to add them to my little cousin line (for my younger ults). The audience enjoyed their performance, and I think there were alof of ANDEAR too! Songs I remember: Broken Heart (HEART, HEART), and That's That. There is also a dance move that I have yet to match to a song. - Since the concert I watched some of their variety content and have been learning their names -
I didn't know P1harmony's concept before attending
The VCRs had a space adventurer/super power theme. It started with the members battling in space and then got thrown into a black hole. This led into the song of the same name. Now I know the members must have been HOT in their black jackets and long pants under the lights. When some chose to throw down the jackets it didn't even feel like fan service, I was just happy they werent going to overheat. I was surprised by Theo's mini guitar solo, I initially thought he was running off stage but he came back with a 🎸!
This was a little teaser for his solo stage, "What's Up" from the band 4 Non-Blondes. They had the lyrics on screen so people could sing along. They did this for alot of the English language songs which I found helpful for singing beyond choruses.
The other solo stages were:
Jiung - Uptown Funk
Soul - Dance Break
Jongseob - Sticky (with an original rap)
Keeho - Phresh Out the Runway
I enjoyed all of them, still have to listen to the og version for Keeho's but will now associate that song entirely with him.
My 'most wanted' stage came in the latter half of the concert. From their Duh! album, the song Work stuck out to me from when I heard. I actually memorized a lot of the lyrics, so I was losing it when it started playing. The vibes of the performance were runway and hyped. The end pose was my favorite since it showed the members silly but finessed attitudes. Picture here. If you can tell me which members which are please comment.
There was a lot of confetti, and this was my first time experiencing the smoke guns at a concert. The members mics kept picking up the smoke going off😂
P1ece and P1harmony interactions were top tier. During their ments about the solo stages, Jiung asked for a challenger in the crowd to dance. They chose people on the floor which is fair and they were ready. The first contender danced to Sad Song and did an "Ending Fairy." * Chef's Kiss*
Then the second contender was the Lorax (which is a popular outfit for Kpop concerts these days). They held on to their mustache the entire time they danced. As Keeho said they were committed to the bit!
P1Harmony released their first full English ep, "Ex" on September 26th (aka the Friday before the tour started). I listened through the album Saturday before the concert and decided 'Stupid Brain' was my favorite track. Fortunately, they changed up the setlist to include a few of the songs off the English ep.
The encore was sweet with the members serenading the crowd, interacting with the audience and playing in the confetti. An Ending like that made the concert seem so short even though it was definitely 2.5 hours. With the drive from my area and stopping at IHOP I got home ~12:20 AM but I would go again. Am I a P1ece now?
